Media Center Policies

The Cypress Springs Media Center has a wonderful collection of books and magazines to lend. Additionally, there is a resource cart of parenting books which can be checked out by parents or guardians. The media center is open for students and their families to check out books each school day. Generally, check out begins about two weeks after the start of school to give each class an opportunity to attend orientation. Check out usually ends about two weeks before the end of school. This allows the media center to collect all books and payments for lost books during inventory time. The media center is also closed for check out during the twice annual book fairs.

Parents who are on campus during the school day are encouraged to come by the media center to check it out!

Check out limits are:

Kindergarten and First Grade Students – 1 book

Second and Third Grade Students – 2 books

Third and Fourth Grade Students – 3 books

Parents – 10 books

Kindergarten students usually must keep their book at school but other students can bring them home and enjoy them! Books are checked out for one week and can be renewed. The book must be brought to the media center for renewal.

Users will charged a replacement cost for lost or badly damaged books. Books purchased as replacements are not accepted.
