CLUBS at Cypress Springs Elementary

The following clubs will take place at Cypress Springs this semester.
If interested please email the lead teacher.

Terrific Kids is a monthly student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem, and perseverance. Students will be selected by the teacher each month who exemplify great character each month and we provide the rest. If you child receives this award you will understand what the award is for.

BUG (Bring Up Grades) Program is a quarterly recognition program that rewards students for academic improvement. Bring Up Grades (BUG) rewards students for improvements in their grades. Again your child’s teacher nominates students who have improved in their academics. If you child receives this award you will be aware.

K-Kids – is a service learning club that will meet twice a month on Tuesdays beginning October 4th. These meetings will revolve around projects in the community and also on campus that provide service and giving to others. The leads for this club are: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] This club begins Oct. 4th after school from 3:00 – 4:00pm and will meet every other week.

STEM Club: Will meet beginning October 25th and every other week from 3:00 – 4:00pm

School Newspaper & Journalism Club – the lead for this group is [email protected] The club will begin in October 6th and will have about 15 students from 4th & 5th grades. The club will meet every other Thursday morning from 7:30 – 8:30am

Chorus – the lead for this group is [email protected] Applications are being distributed by Ms. Heldstab during Music Classes and is open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Chorus will meet after school from 3:00 to 4:00 on Mondays. Interested students should submit applications and are due with a participation fee of $20 by Friday, Sept. 16th. Rehearsals begin Monday, September 19th and students must be committed to attending weekly rehearsals in preparation for a concert on the evening of December 8th. Another concert will take place in the spring.

4th and 5th Grade Orff Ensemble-- this group is led by [email protected] This group is an instrumental ensemble open to 4th and 5th graders that will work with our barred instruments and small percussion. The Orff Ensemble will meet Tuesday mornings from 7:45-8:20 a.m. Applications are being distributed by Ms. Heldstab during Music Classes. Interested students should submit applications and are due with a participation fee of $20 by Friday, Sept. 16th. CSE Actor Club – CSE Actor Club – This group is a performance based club that is open to 3rd-5th graders. The CSE Actors Club will be presenting a musical in December and a play in the spring. Students will sign up based on interest in either the musical, play, or both. Students not interested in the musical will have a chance to join CSE Actors in January for the spring play production. Likewise, those interested in the musical but not the play are not required to remain in the club after December! The fee is $25 per actor per production. The first rehearsal for those starting in the fall will be September 22, 2022 from 3:00-4:00pm in the music room. The musical will be performed the evening of December 8th. Service-Learning Art Club: Our 5th grade students are donating their time and talents to beautify our school with artworks inspired by our elementary art lessons. The club is free of charge since all students will be donating their creation to the school. We will be opening up a session in the fall and a different one in the spring. Both groups will meet for 12 specific Tuesdays. Applications and signed authorization slips were turned in to Mrs. Bondi during Art Classes. This club begins Sept. 20th after school from 3:00 – 4:30pm in the art classroom. Ana Bondi, our Art Teacher, is the lead for this club. [email protected]
