    ADDitions Volunteers

An ADDitions volunteer is an interested parent or community member who is willing to give his/her time to help our school reach its greatest potential. ADDitions volunteers are caring and dedicated people who want to see their community thrive. ADDitions volunteers assist with various tasks throughout the school. From field trips to classroom support and beyond to after school functions, ADDitions volunteers provide that extra special touch to our school.

Those interested in becoming an ADDitions volunteer should follow the subsequent guidelines:

    • ADDitions applications must be filled out each school year.
    • The application can be found at ADDitions School Volunteers
    • Search Cypress Springs Elementary
    • When volunteering, ADDitions must sign in at the front office and wear a visitor's sticker.
  • Extended Day

The Extended Day Program is vital to the life of our school and community. It provides a safe, enriching environment for many of our students before and after school. Parents have a greater peace of mind knowing their children are in good hands.

Extended Day morning hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Afternoon hours are from dismissal until 6:00 p.m.

Extended Day provides the following benefits for Cypress Springs Elementary and its families:

    • Ensuring student safety
    • Allowing time for and assisting with homework
    • Enabling parents with direct communication to school personnel
    • Developing students' loyalty and pride for the school
    • Developing parents' commitment to the school
    • Providing opportunities for students to develop peer relationships
    • Providing students with extracurricular experiences

Other school programs to be determined for the 25-26 School Year.

  • Guidance Program

Cypress Springs Elementary School provides a comprehensive program of guidance and counseling services to respond to the developmental and educational needs of students.

The role of the elementary counselor is diverse. The counselor conducts individual and small group, goal-oriented counseling sessions as well as classroom guidance lessons.

Counseling services may also be provided to support students in times of crisis.

Additionally, an important focus of the elementary counseling program at Cypress Springs Elementary is the classroom guidance lessons. The lessons presented to students in the classroom setting focus on issues that meet the diverse needs of our school's population, such as decision-making skills, personal growth and development, friendship, study skills, test-taking skills, bullying prevention, cultural diversity, individual differences, and career development, to name a few.
