About the Principal


Dr. Ruth Haniff began her career with Orange County Public Schools in 1989 as a dedicated teacher at Glenridge Middle School. In 1994, she was promoted to Assistant Principal of Waterford Elementary and then began as Assistant Principal of Lockhart Elementary in 1996. On January 5, 1998, Dr. Haniff was appointed as Principal of Eccleston Elementary School where she served proudly for more than 10 years. Commissioner Ings, from District 6 in the City of Orlando, proclaimed June 3, 2008 as "Principal Ruth Elizabeth Haniff''s Day" to recognize her for her passion and commitment to educational excellence for the children of Orange County. She began another exciting adventure in her career on July 2, 2008 when she became the Principal of Cypress Springs Elementary.

Dr. Haniff holds her Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida, she holds a Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University.
